Turns out that it actually was necessary to read the sixth Harry Potter before I went to work...but it wasn't my coworkers doing the spoiling, it was the patrons. A woman came up to me today to put Harry Potter 6 on hold and proceeded to tell me just how upset she was that someone on a news show that she watches let out a major plot spoiler; and then she told me exactly what it was.

>_<

On the plus side, I had told her that I'd finished, but she was so irked that I'm not sure that knowing I hadn't finished would have stopped her. I can understand her ire, though--plot spoilers are a major pet peeve of mine.

On another note, one of my coworkers came up to me today, looked at a full reshelve cart and announced, "No one ever shelves this cart!" (Note: shelving books is not part of my job description, though I do it quite a bit, and it's not something I really mind if I have time). To my credit, I said nothing and went right back to what I was doing. I'm not sure what she meant for me to say/do if anything at all, but for a change I managed to not take it personally and went about my business. Hurray for me!

Oh, and I'm on a diet again. For those of you who don't know me, I periodically decide I'm fat and go on crash diets that for the most part don't work. Eventually, I get over my complex until the next round. I think this is very typical for american women :P
